CodeLean to Host Its First Certified Scrum Product Owner Course

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

After hosting its eighth Certified ScrumMaster training course last April 2011, CodeLean Inc. is now set to host its first-ever Certified Scrum Product Owner course on July 28–29, 2011, at the Diamond Hotel in Manila.

Facilitating the course will be certified Scrum trainer Rowan Bunning, a pioneer of the Scrum Agile project management method in Australia. Bunning has worked as a ScrumMaster and Agile coach at a leading European Agile consultancy firm and has trained, coached, and led Agile adoptions across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Ireland.

Developing a product using a new approach can be quite overwhelming. In Scrum, the Product Owner is said to have the most daunting task as the project’s success rests on his/her hands. The Product Owner establishes the interaction between the business and the Scrum delivery team, answers the team’s questions, and delivers direction. He/she is also responsible for a project’s return on investment (ROI). Many Product Owners are from business sectors of the organization who are not all that familiar with project management, software development, and Agile methods—all critical if one is to be a successful Product Owner.

The two-day course is aimed at helping participants gain a solid understanding of the concepts, skills, responsibilities, and tools to perform effectively as a Scrum Product Owner. Apart from an extensive discussion of the Scrum framework, participants will also learn how to involve the whole Scrum team and stakeholders in identifying the business benefit to focus on, understand customers and users, build a product backlog, and design the user interface.

This course is recommended for Product Owners, product managers, business analysts, ScrumMasters, Agile coaches, subject matter experts, solution architects, tech leads, testers, executives, and anyone else interested in Scrum.
